Taking a leadership path to financial services, Evan graduated summa cum laude from the United States Merchant Marine Academy with a B.S. in Marine Transportation, a commission in the United States Navy and a 3rd mate unlimited tonnage license which allows him to navigate commercial oceangoing vessels.
Beginning in 2009, Evan worked for Transocean as a second officer aboard the Development Driller III. During this time, Mr. Troop supported numerous notable projects such as the Macondo 252 relief-well operation. This project successfully capped the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Additionally, Evan served for 10 years as a United States Naval Reserve Officer and retired as a Lieutenant.
In 2013, Evan earned an academic scholarship to the SMU Cox School of Business and completed his M.B.A. the following year in Finance and Strategy.
Mr. Troop began his career in finance as a Private Banker at J.P. Morgan where he advised family offices and high net worth individuals. Evan delivered a wide array of solutions to clients including investment management, lending, trust & estate planning as well as tax strategies.
In 2015, Evan transitioned to JP Morgan Advisors and grew his practice to $10.2b in assets under supervision. As a trader, advisor and portfolio manager, Mr. Troop received numerous accolades from Forbes, Barron’s and Financial Planning for providing investment management solutions to clients.
Today, Mr. Troop is the CEO and CIO of Troop Capital Management. Evan resides in Dallas and enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, hockey, football, snowboarding, wakeboarding and playing guitar.
